New Features 09.08.08

Hey all,

We’re proud to announce ourselves at Techcrunch50 today! Yay!
We’re also pushing live our bi-weekly set of features.

Not to miss new features:

• You can now play Seeqpod music from the boombox and make a playlist.
• Now you can find friends from your email contact info who are on hangout.net or invite them to join easily.
• We now take a snapshot of your avatar and use it as your profile image on hangout.net.
• The new Share tab has been added to the top navigation, where you can find the latest snapshot of your room to post anywhere as well as grab the iframe link to embed your room anywhere.
• There are several new stock decorated room options to choose from (for you slackers out there).
• You can now add a Monster Energy drink to your room
• You can now run (hold down Shift-Up Arrow) to move faster.
• You can now power-nudge (hold down Shift-Nudge) to fly things around the room and into each other (you might want to try furniture bowling on the lawn)

A few issues to be aware of:

• If you are using a Window’s machine playing YouTube videos are sometimes not working properly. We are working to patch this later this week.
• Returning users may crash the first time you come back to the site. This has to do with our updated 3D plugin.

Hi,

It’s with great pleasure that I write the first posting on our new blog. I’ve been working on this project with a great team of people in stealth mode for months now and it’s great to finally be coming out to the world. I’m extremely proud of the people, the product and for being part of the next revolution on the web – 3D!
